Who are the leaders that you’re learning from?
Indra Nooyi made a point to learn the examples of others as she grew to become one of the top CEOs in the world, at the helm of PepsiCo. She had a strong group of mentors and advisors throughout her career, including the former PepsiCo CEO.
She also read extensively, and studied leadership examples from history, in addition to reading up on emerging trends in business and society.
This ability to learn from the successes and failures of others has been shown to build confidence in leaders at all levels. These leaders can more easily imagine what strategis to try and can be inspired by these examples, while also potentially avoiding painful mistakes.
So, who are the people that you can learn from, both those whom you know and those whom you can only read about.
How will you feel when you make 15 minutes a week to study a leader and learn from their success and failures?
Ask one person in your network, whether a colleague or friend, to commit to learning from leadership examples along with you. Perhaps you can set a time every week, or share articles and books with each other.
